PRESS: Duma buys local OS, software analogues for 52.5 mln rbl
OSCOW, Oct 2 (PRIME) -- The Russian parliament’s lower house State Duma has purchased for the deputies national analogues of operating system Windows and office programs package Microsoft Office for almost 52.5 million rubles, business daily Vedomosti reporters on Monday.
The solutions were supplied fully in September, the daily reported.
Operating system Astra Linux replaced Windows and was acquired for 29.3 million rubles, and 1,800 MyOffice licenses were bought instead of Microsoft Office for 23.1 million rubles. The licenses are termless with a three-year period of getting updates.
The daily reported the move is a planned step in the transition to national software.
